Embark on a transformative 1/2 day trip with our VCE Outdoor Education excursion. Led by expert instructors, students delve into hands-on exploration, paddling through the serene waters and collaborating with more than human worlds and into the City (or from the City).

Order of the day
- Meet above the Hawthorn Rowing sheds or opposite fed square in the city
- Introductions and preparations.
- Join the Birrarung : learn to collaborate with the river.
- Journey together along the Birrarung
- Explore Herring Island
- Public transport back to start or a shuttle can be arranged.
- Debrief and farewell.
Return options:
- UTC can manage student preparation, safety and skills while the Driver travels to Boathouse drive and gets an TAXI back to Hawthorn (45 Min)
- On Request Up The Creek can transport the Bus driver one way to drop the Bus (40 Min return). Students can get ready in this time and check out the canoe scar tree in the park adjacent the rowing sheds.
- Public transport is a good option with the Tram and Train close by.
