Embark on a transformative 1/2 day trip with our VCE Outdoor Education excursion to Yarra Bend Park. Led by expert instructors, students delve into hands-on exploration, paddling through the park's serene waters and collaborating with more than human worlds. We will travel through the bat colony.
Students witness the breathtaking sight of thousands of fruit bats taking flight, guided by our knowledgeable staff to understand the intricacies of wildlife behavior and ecosystem dynamics.

Meet Fairfield Boathouse Carpark
We will familiarise ourselves with the environment, get organised and walk the boats down to the river. when we are all ready we will get on the Birrarung and familiarise ourselves with the boats. The group will then paddle through the bat colony on a 5 km Journey.
Pull out opposite Studley Park Boat House.
To get back home
- Option 1, Staff member drives the bus to the pull out and walks back to join the group prior to departure (35 min)
- Option 2, During backup one staff member walks back for the bus (30 min walk)
- Option 3, Group walk back to the start (30 min walk)
End: Fairfield Boat house Carpark.
